    Material Characteristics

    Our outdoor products are made of heat-treated pine, Lunawood ThermoWood®. ThermoWood is a non-toxic material produced using only heat and steam. The heat treatment makes each outdoor lounge chair weatherproof, so no additional surface treatment is required.

    ThermoWood reacts quickly to UV light and begins to shift toward a beautiful silver tone once unboxed. Your lounge chair outdoor will reach its final color after approximately one year outside.

    Pine is a soft wood and will get dents and bruises over time. But don’t think of them as blemishes or flaws. Embrace them. They’re evidence of life lived and furniture loved. Pine isn’t life-proof. It’s proof of life.

    All our products are locally made by select Finnish makers and specialists. Every pine tree is harvested from sustainably managed Finnish forests.

    Faye Toogood is a British designer based in London. She started her career working as an editor and stylist at The World of Interiors before founding her own studio in 2008. Her work spans furniture, interiors, and fashion. Toogood is known for her minimal, sculptural furniture designs.
